Pursuant to WCL §151, the Chair of the Workers' Compensation Board shall annually establish an assessment rate for all employers by November 1 of each year, to be effective January 1 of the subsequent calendar year. For calendar year 2021, the rate shall be 11.8% of the standard premium or premium equivalent.

The new rate shall be effective for policies renewing on or after January 1, 2021 and represents a decrease from the 2020 rate of 12.2%. Please note: The updated 11.8% assessment rate does not apply to VFBL or VAWBL policies. The assessment rate for these policies is 0%.
