Pursuant to WCL §151, the Chair of the Workers' Compensation Board shall annually establish an assessment rate for all employers by November 1 of each year, to be effective January 1 of the subsequent calendar year. For calendar year 2019, the rate shall be 12.6% of the standard premium or premium equivalent.

The new rate shall be effective for policies renewing on or after January 1, 2019 and represents an increase from the 2018 rate of 12.1%. Please note: The updated 12.6% assessment rate does not apply to VFBL or VAWBL policies. The assessment rate for these policies is 0%.
